3-Day BeColourful Workshop with certified Jacqueline de Jonge instructor STACIE SPRADLIN (paper piecing)

INTERMEDIATE: This 3-day workshop is designed to teach foundation paper piecing concepts. Stacie will break down the techniques and share tips and tricks from Jacqueline’s designs so that you will confidently learn how to piece circles, spikes and set-in seams.
This is a stunning small wall hanging (38" x 38"), crafted in the beautiful colors of batik fabrics, it features a gorgeous center star and a striking spiked circle. Its manageable size and array of techniques make it ideal to learn many techniques in paper piecing. This will be a fun and rewarding experience for quilters of all skill levels!
Students must be able to cut fabric precisely and stitch accurately. A list of class preparations will be provided.

--Kits available as an option when registering. Kits will be similar to the picture shown.
--You may pick out your own choice of fabrics, as well
--Batiks work the best.
--Cutting preparation for class is required and will be given upon registration.
--Everything is foundation paper pieced.
The patterns are very detailed but having an instructor to share the "inside secrets of piecing techniques" is invaluable. You will learn complicated constructions and get personal help, if needed. There is time to ask questions and share knowledge both by the students among themselves and by Stacie. And of course there is also time for laughter and socializing.
Together we create an inspiring, safe and joyful sewing session in which all participants are heard and seen. This enthusiasm is the basis for a great interactive experience where you can practice your skills and quilting techniques and deepen your knowledge. You get direct feedback and lots of tips and tricks from Stacie. You will learn a lot and it is an experience you will take with you.

| Skill Details: | Advanced These classes are designed for advanced quilters. There is usually prep work, and homework involved to finish the project. Skills taught are going to be more intricate and complex. Accurate seam allowance and cutting skills are a must. It’s possible that a pre-requisite skill may be required (will be listed as needed). An example would be a double wedding ring, miniatures or “show” ready quilts. |
| Materials Included: | Pattern included. Patterns and kits will need to be picked up in store or shipped before class. Shipping charges may apply. |
| Requirements: | The class preparation will include cutting your fabric ahead of time, and the freezer paper templates. The instructor will help you with that as you get to your piecing. Instructor information will be provided for those that need help prior to class. |
| Instructor: | Stacie Spradlin |
| Instructor Bio: | Stacie Spradlin has been sewing and quilting for well over 25 years. What began mainly as a hobby while raising and homeschooling her two daughters, it turned into a career in quilting and machine embroidery in 2012 when she opened her Etsy shop Seams Divine. In 2016, she purchased a long-arm and quickly became passionate about both edge-to-edge and custom quilting. Stacie is an award-winning quilter, quilts for BeColourful and Riley Blake designers and has had her quilting work featured in recent publications. She has taught for the American Quilter’s Society (AQS), the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Road to California, QuiltFest in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and for several other quilt shows throughout the US. She also speaks at quilting workshops where she demonstrates and shares her expertise in both quilting and design. Traveling and teaching is something Stacie looks forward to as she loves to help fellow longarm quilters and piecers develop their own sense of style. She loves color and the precision that foundation paper piecing gives her quilts. She is always looking for ways to continue her own education so that she can help you create quilts that will be treasured for years to come. |
