Beginner Series Mesa Verde - Aug

Featuring a bold and striking geometric design, the Mesa Verde (50" x 50") pattern combines simple piecing with dramatic color contrasts to create a quilt that captures the spirit of the desert.

The Log Cabin quilt block is a classic design that has stood the test of time, known for its versatility, beauty, and rich history. This iconic block features a simple yet striking layout made up of strips of fabric arranged in a spiral pattern around a central square, often referred to as the "heart" of the cabin. The logs are sewn in a specific order, typically light fabrics on one side and dark fabrics on the other, creating a unique contrast that makes the block visually dynamic.

The Log Cabin pattern can be arranged in a variety of ways, with the most popular layout being the "Barn Raising" design, where the blocks are arranged to form a star-like effect. Alternatively, the blocks can be arranged in a more traditional grid to create a uniform, symmetrical look. The beauty of the Log Cabin block lies in its adaptability — it can be made using a wide range of fabrics, from scrappy and eclectic to coordinated and modern.
