Rainbow Star Quilt Class (58” x 74”)
Create a vibrant and eye-catching Rainbow Star quilt using a fun, beginner-friendly method—no special rulers required and absolutely no Y-seams! This class is based on the free Rainbow Star pattern by Donna Jordan of Jordan Fabrics.
Students will learn how to piece the star blocks accurately and confidently while playing with color placement to achieve a bold, rainbow effect. Perfect for confident beginners and beyond, this project comes together smoothly and results in a stunning 58” x 74” quilt top you’ll be proud to show off.

| Skill Details: | Advanced Beginner An advanced beginner class is for those students who are comfortable with rotary cutting, pre-class prep work, and with their machine. Usually there is prep work involved to be done outside of the class. These classes usually involve a project to be completed at home after skills are taught. |
| Requirements: | Required Fabric: 36 – 2 ½” Strips WOF – a jelly roll is a great and easy option Background: 3 ½ yards **Note: The sample used a jelly roll plus background fabric. I made mine bigger by adding another border. To enlarge: If you want to make it bigger: a twin size 70 x 86”: Additional Border -1 5/8 yards If you want to make it even bigger: a Queen size 85 x 101”: • First Border – 1 5/8 yards • Second Border -7/8 yards • Third Border – 1 ¾ yards Class Materials Required: • Bring whatever long cutting ruler you typically use. I used my Stripology XL to do most of my cutting, but it is not required. • Sewing machine • Pins • Best press or craft spray • Rotary cutter • Scissors • Seam ripper Optional: I like the GE Designs Ruler Stickers to help me mark my rulers Pre-Class Preparation: • Please have your 36 – 2 ½ inch strips x width of fabric cut (or bring a jelly roll of your choice) |
