Snailed by Quiltin’ Tia – Class Description

Slow down and enjoy the journey with Snailed by Quiltin’ Tia Quiltworks! This playful, movement-filled quilt pattern features swirling shapes and dynamic curves that create a mesmerizing “snail trail” effect across the quilt top.

In this class, students will learn how to confidently construct the blocks that give Snailed its signature motion. We’ll focus on precise cutting, organized layout, and accurate piecing to ensure smooth construction and sharp results. Special attention will be given to color and value placement—key elements that bring the spiral design to life and enhance the illusion of movement.

You’ll gain helpful tips for maintaining consistent seam allowances, managing directional layouts, and assembling blocks so everything aligns beautifully. Whether you choose bold contrasts for a high-impact look or coordinated prints for a more subtle swirl, this pattern offers endless creative possibilities.

This class is ideal for confident beginners and up. Basic rotary cutting and sewing skills are recommended.

By the end of class, you’ll have a strong start (if not a completed top!) and the skills to confidently tackle dynamic, movement-based quilt designs. Join us and get happily Snailed!

This quilt pattern uses 5 yards of fabric.  Fabrics will be chosen at the beginning of class with the teacher as guide.  Focus in this class is understanding contrast of color and size of patterns -a basic quilting skill needed to build a solid quilting foundation on.
