Colorful Collage Quilts: A Hands-On Beginner Experience - 2 Day Workshop - July

Discover the joy and freedom of fabric collage in this creative two?day beginner workshop. Inspired by the popular Laura Heine style but grounded in the instructor’s own refined methods, this class introduces students to the playful, painterly world of collage quilt making—no prior quilting experience required.
Over the course of two hands-on days, students will learn:
-
How to select and prepare fabrics for vibrant, dynamic collage work
-
Color, value, and pattern placement to create depth and visual interest
-
Fusing and layering techniques that form the foundation of collage quilting
-
The instructor’s personal tips, shortcuts, and problem?solving strategies developed through years of practice
-
How to build a small collage quilt top from start to finish
-
Finishing options to bring your piece to life after class
This workshop focuses on creativity, exploration, and building confidence with fabric as an artistic medium. Students will leave with a completed or nearly completed collage quilt top, a solid understanding of the process, and the skills to continue creating at home.
Whether you’re brand new to quilting or simply curious about collage techniques, this class offers a relaxed, supportive environment where imagination leads the way.
